True
False

First of all, marijuana use is still considered illegal nationwide on the federal level. And in certain states that have legalized the recreational use of marijuana, the law only applies to people over the age of 21. So even in those states, marijuana use among people under 21 is still illegal.

True
False

The effects from smoking marijuana begin almost immediately and can last from 1-3 hours. If marijuana is consumed in foods or beverages, the effects appear later -- usually in 30 minutes to an hour -- and may last for many hours.  Because it takes longer, the user may end up consuming larger amounts of the drug because they think the drug isn't working.

Question 4 of 6

The THC content in marijuana has increased since the 1980s.

True
False

In the early 1990s, average THC content in confiscated samples was roughly 3.7 percent for marijuana; in 2016, it was 13.18 percent. Smoking or eating THC-rich hash oil extracted from the marijuana plant may deliver high levels of THC to the user. Higher THC levels may explain the rise in emergency room visits involving marijuana use.
